2024-2025 Theme is: Bowlrassic - Can you DIG it?
Our #1 goal is FUN with a side of learning!!
Lessons are geared for all ages however they can be more for the younger kids. We do work hard on basic skills, having fun, and a positive mindset! They might also brush up on their dino/fossil skills. There are no “Try outs” for these leagues - these leagues are what you would consider a “Rec League”. If you think your bowler is up for more learning & practice- ask us about MS & HS Bowling Team info for Mosinee, Wausau, and DCE School Districts. Would be comparable to a “Travel League” in Baseball and other sports.
Bowling is FLEXIBLE!
We get that kids enjoy learning and trying multiple sports as well other obligations that come up along the season. Maybe you have a split household schedule and only work to come every other week. No worries!!! Make ups are easy to do!!
What LEAGUE should I pick?
Bowling is not so much about age but skill and comfort. If your child needs bumpers and still has a shorter attention span then PEE WEE’s is your pick!
Bantam’s on the other hand they might be working on NO bumpers throughout the season or might be more comfortable yet knowing they have some extra help prior to moving on to Juniors.
Bantams that bowl the season with no bumpers can join in on Tournaments & State Tournament!
Junior’s- Lots of different ages and skills in this group. Can independently bowl 3 full games. Parents are more hands off with these bowlers.
Lots more tournaments and scholarship monies available at this level.
Bowling Equipment:
Is provided! You do not need to purchase anything unless you wish to. Most like to wait and ensure their child wishes to continue.
There are some options for donated gear in certain centers.
Fitted shoes & bowling balls do help your child while learning basic skills and if you decide it is time we will help point you to a local pro-shop. New equipment makes great Christmas presents!!

FEES:
At DWL we do all up front payments for the season. This allows us less time collecting money and more time down on the lanes with the bowlers.
All fees include Shoe rental and use of appropriately weighted house bowling ball if needed. These stay in the Center.
There are opportunities for youth to keep their bowling equipment at the center.
Includes our Holiday Parties during the season. We try to get 3-4 “events” to celebrate with our bowling friends while we bowl league. Coach Sarah’s favorite is Halloween so we never miss that! These events include some kind of treat & drink. As well as awards & other prizes.
(Ask about Discounts for bowling families & or Payment Plan Options). We know all too well what paying for multiple children in sports and school start up time feels like in our pocket books. We would never want a child to miss out on the building experience due to lack of funds.
Also if your child has a split home situation and can only join us every other week - these fees can be adjusted!

Team Bowling: Did You Know?
Nearly 200 high schools in Wisconsin have students participating on a high school team.
Over the last decade an average of 2,600 boys’ and 2,600 girls’ teams have participated in varsity high school bowling in the United States.
Bowling offers many great benefits for student-athletes, including being a great form of exercise.
In 2022-23, an estimated 65,000 students bowled nationally in high school varsity competition.
Bowling is one of the fastest growing high school sports over the last decade, showing growth in eight of the last 10 seasons.
More than 200 colleges offer bowling and nearly half offer scholarships.
The bowling industry provides more than $6 million in scholarships each year.
Bowling also gives students an opportunity to become involved with their high schools, teaches fundamentals for a lifetime sport and helps athletes earn scholarships and bowl in college.
September 12th is our High School/ Middle School Bowling Team Info Meeting!!
SMART Account:
Every bowler as they start to accumulate scholarship funds while bowling is created a Smart Account. This account keeps track of your bowler's funds for you! This will follow them after they turn 18 so when you create your bowler's portal please ensure to use an email or info that they can easily remember.
Until their SENIOR year the $$’s will show up as points! It is very easy to transfer funds from your bowlers portal to their College School or program! For more info: https://bowl.com/youth/smart/recipients.
Senior Scholarship Packets:
When your child hits the summer prior to their Senior year - Coach Sarah reaches out with our senior bowling scholarship packet. This has all the known scholarships in bowlinging from local, state, and national.
Why a Facebook Group:
Trust me the last thing I want or need is another Facebook Group but it really helps with keeping everyone connected throughout the season:
All guardians of your child are welcome to be apart (grandparents & other family members as well)
